Hello List,
I am writing in support of Corinne Logan's post about kids. Like Corinne, I
run a lesson program that uses only Fjords and primarily teaches kids. I also
sell a number of Fjords each year, my own and consignments, so I see all

for 17 years - I know very much that a horse is a horse.
The loose terms of bombproof, child safe, been-there-done-that
these are all loose terms to get a feel, not meant to be taken literally.
As any rider who's been in any sort of a saddle, for any length of time,

That's a funny one - yes a broomstick would be dead broke.
While I completely agree that Fjords have amazing power behind them, I have to
respectfully disagree about Fjords and kids. We've built an entire lesson

Hello -
Is there a listing out there, for finding a deadbroke or child
safe Fjord?
I have been watching DreamHorse.com, national listings.
Thanks, Sher

I have a friend of a friend looking for a safe, schoolmaster type Fjord for an
adult beginner who has fallen in love with the breed, so I'd be interested in
any listings as described in the subject line. Friend of friend is in

I have a 1994 mare for sale that IS safe for just about anyone to ride. That
said, I agree totally with Ruthie Bushnell in that there really is no such
thing as dead broke, Child Proof or Bomb Proof. Any and EVERY horse,
unless it is already dead

Robin,
I like the Safe-T-Post caps http://www.cze.com/postcap/postcap.htm . They
are a flexible vinyl which makes for a snug fit. If you have horses that are
entertained by pulling the caps off, the manufacture recommends filling the
cap

The best solution that I have found is to rip out the T-posts and replace
them with a good wood post. Yes it cost more and takes more time, but it
will be less than the vet bills in the long run. I have never had a horse
hurt
on a wooden post.

My prayers are with O E Pat. Lisa brings us an important point about
safety. there is no safe horse or most any animal. The only one that is
truly safe is in bronze. I have worked in the public for over thirty five

Good Saturday Morning!
While reading Horse and Rider last night I came across information on a
vest for horses to wear -- blaze orange -- so they don't become targets for
hunters.
Tester comments indicated it can be worn while riding as well as while in
that the horses have been saved.
I am glad to hear that they are safe, but I didn't get this original email
either.
I am on two other lists and haven't had this kind of problem before, never
missed an email out of my other lists, any ideas???

Hello everyone,
Everyone needs to give Bonnie Rieber in Canada a hug and a large round of
applause for she found the slaughter house for us and the contact person.
Because of Bonnie's efforts, we now have saved these three Fjords.
They are young males,

looking for a pretty mare, not drafty, at least 14 hands, between 5 and 10
years old and must be sound and healthy. I would give preference to a safe
driving horse. The mare I have now rides but does not drive and it doesn't
look as if I will be doing much riding due to a bad back. Advanced training
