To take full advantage of WBIR, you need a signal source. For those of you with 8640B's or the Elecraft signal generator, you will get good performance with the SDR-1000. For those without these signal generators, you will get BETTER performance on strong signals than you are getting now

There have been no updates to the SDR-1000 since before it went out of production, so you probably have the latest hardware. There is NO firmware in the SDR-1000. Only the FLEX family of SDRs have firmware Using the latest PowerSDR code is what you need to do. WBIR will do nothing for DDS
