This is an opinion, one to which Zend Framework does not subscribe. There
are plenty of PHP frameworks which do subscribe to this opinion. And

Hi.
I'm looking into replacing a legacy system with Zend_Db + subpackages
(Zend_Db_Table and friends), but I'm running into some problems. The
setup we have is a master/slave. For offloading the main server all
read queries are channelled to the slave, while all write queries are

Hy Ralph,
The intendation for my Zend_Calendar proposal was, to provide a component
which can handle different calendar systems. Gregorian, Islamic, Chinese and
several other calendar systems are needed.
It was no component for a "event calendar" nor someone with view

#ZF takes some time for newbies to grasp. It's important to be nice to
them because once they "get it", they could become a valuable
contributor.
Once people play w/ a framework that doesn't have flexibility & they
can't do what they want to do, they may appreciate the flexibility #ZF

The framework is designed primarily for web development, as is PHP; I don't
think it's unreasonable for the layout configuration to appear in the
application.ini for a project generated by the zf command, at least
commented out.

I'm using the autoloader, so I have very few include statements (and

The only place my include_path changes is in Bootstrap.php, which has

Hello Bence,
you can call it in any controller:
$bootstrap = $this->getInvokeArg ( 'bootstrap' );
$db = $bootstrap->getResource ( 'dbconn' );
wher:
Bootstrap.php
has this method:
protected function _initDbconn(){
$resource = $this->getPluginResource('db');
