Hi Wayne, you are correct in your assumption. The cases are slightly small for the 2.5 drives, what I did, was to cut the lip on the top of the case where the light diode and the connection enter, that way I was able to fit the hard drive. If you want I can take a pict and send it to you.

Wayne, it's true. Many of the sleek, new USB, Firewire, and combo enclosures for 2.5 laptop drives will only accommodate the 9mm high drives. However, a few will take the thicker 12.5mm ones. You can find these at a number of popular mail order vendors. Examples: Sanmax, HD-227 models
