Hi Anne, My WS did the same for a while. It took me sometime to find
out the culprit. In my case it was a small program for a Wee-Cam that I
had installed some time back in 9.0 but when I updated to 9.2.2 it
started freezing, even when the camera was not plugged in so I was
stumped for a long
Hey Everyone:
Probably have a simple question, but was not able to find any answers
elsewhere.
I am pulling my 20 GB IBM travelstar hard drive from my Wallstreet and want
to get an external enclosure for it. I know the drive is 2.5, but every
enclosure I see state the maximum height is 9.5 mm

1. Does that mean I will have to reformat the drive and make one
partition only 8 gb or less?
Yes.
2. How do I know which partition is the FIRST 8 gb to install onto?
Thanks.
Use Drive Setup. The partition at the top will be the first.

Hi Wayne, you are correct in your assumption. The cases are slightly
small for the 2.5 drives, what I did, was to cut the lip on the top of
the case where the light diode and the connection enter, that way I was
able to fit the hard drive.
If you want I can take a pict and send it to you.
I had the same problem with Norton Utilities 8.0 and
Diskwarrior. What I'd like to know is how to make a
bootable CD image from Panther that I can add my own
utilities to. One CD with TT Deluxe, Norton
DiskDoctor and Diswarrior would be very convenient.

I don't have Toast, and think $100 is a bit steep just
for the ability to make bootable images. I want to

just if someone could post a bootable Panther image on

I managed to kill the processor on my Pismo. Does anyone out there do

worth the cost of upgrade - someone has offered me a 500 G3 for a great

Wayne, it's true. Many of the sleek, new USB, Firewire, and combo
enclosures for 2.5 laptop drives will only accommodate the 9mm high
drives. However, a few will take the thicker 12.5mm ones. You can
find these at a number of popular mail order vendors. Examples:
Sanmax, HD-227 models

There are a few places you can buy replacement processor cards for the

Reasonably new to OSX, transitioned my Pismo with the Panther
release. Have modified the system to my heart's content, no problems,
have backed off on a few mods which were driven by OS 9 nostalgia.
Now that I'm getting used to OSX, I'd like to put the trash in the
