Hello, I would like to opine on this. I am a writer (legal) as well, and I
surf endlessly on legal sites

I've got a 2400c on the way now. I'm hoping that it handles my needs
for typing and wireless surfing. If not, I'll probably try a 3400c.
Thanks

Tony:
Am using a GoVideo VR3930 precisely for this. Probably not available
any more, but newer models should be good.
Extremely happy with the unit.
It has a firewire (aka iLink or IEEE 1392?) interface, so I can copy
directly from my sony camcorder, and the VR3930 controls the camera.

I haven't been following this topic very well, but I myself make animations
and I use OS 9 all the time. They are not clay animations (made with LEGO
actually) but its all the same. These are a few programs for the classic OS
that should work well for what you need:

I had a 2400c G/3 320 and it was pretty fast and small, but the battery life
forced me to get a G/3 600 iBook, dual USB and it is all I take on trips
now. It has great battery life, great WIFI range, is faster than the 2400c
and is much more convenient than the strange rear input panel the 2400c
FWIW I have dock for the 2400c than makes it much easier to use, but is now
portable by any means.

That said, I did get another 2400c after I sold my G/3 320

Yes, very much so. And, they are a lot lighter, too.

I guess I'll have to chime in like that squeaky wheel and weigh in against
certain iBooks: The white iBook G3 series--all of them--are dogs and to be
avoided like the plague. And it is not just cranky complaint, it is
acknowledged so by Apple, who still have an extended repair program in place

My Pismo 500 G/3 is not as fast as my iBook 600 G/3 and that is the cold

the iBook 600, battery (on one battery) life is much less and WIFI
range is the same for both.
