I've got a Linksys router that I bought to go with my new internet connection, but it's not seeing the connection. Yes, I realize that I fail to follow my own advice, but the Linksys was dirt cheap and it's an 802.11 G router. My connection is through Charter cable, and it's DHCP all the way.

Have you tried just resetting the router? This may help if you bought it used. Usually there's a little button for that somewhere. If resetting it doesn't work you should go through the configuration screens to make sure it's not set to have a fixed IP address and that it isn't blocking
