Why should it be Off-topic ???
A hardware question relating to a G-book is about
as ON-topic as you can get...

Well, I didn't knew if a recommendation could be taken as a commercial
endorsement, or misinterpreted in any way.
Best regards.

Water based is fine too, but it's not as easy to find.
I guess you won't find it in a supermarket, but any electronics hobbist

I wouldn't get flux remover on the case, but it should be safe for
the components. The main thing is don't use acid core (plumbing) flux.

If you want to attempt it your self, make sure you use a good
electronic iron and rosin core solder (don't use acid core). The
connector is big, so you don't have to be too precise. Clean the flux
off afterward with flux remover.

Hi, Tom!

Hi, Ken!
I'm very BAD at soldering. I tried it a few years ago, and I was BAD.
Now, with failing eyesight and trembling hands, I do not dare to even
look at a soldering iron.
I can exchange pieces of hardware (HDs, memory, CPUs upgrades, etc.) but
no soldering, please.
If it is just an exchange

Hi!
My PowerBook Wallstreet has this classic problem. I need to prop up the
a/c plug so it exerts pressure, otherwise the battery won't charge, and
even if the Control Strip shows that the PB is taking its power from the
wall, the battery is the one that it really working, discharging normally.
