When I wasn't successful I thought the slot might have gotten warped from all the heat generated and needed to cool down, to contract. Just before I got your OS X methods I did a shut down, waited for a while then restarted with the eject key held down and out it came. Whew! Thanks to you and all the others that responded.

Thank you for helping me out with the screen problem. Now the only issue my bronze has is a sleeping issue. Unlike the insomnia that I hear some other laptops have, mine is a sound sleeper- it wont wake up without a restart! When I close the lid or choose 'sleep', it goes to sleep just fine.
