This statement has been bothering me. What's it based on?
Could you please tell us how you arrived at this conclusion or give
objective evidence of this assertion? You can see our problems here,

PB has DVI out and independent video [i.e. not just mirror]
PB also has line in/out, I believe -- I know iBook lacks same..
Worth the delta? Donno...
There is the firmware hack to enable video spanning on the iBook -- I use it
daily. It's very nice. The delta grows smaller... So I think
I just picked up a used 12 G4 powerbook over a new 12 iBook with a

the battery tested out good. (two hours of a quick time movie on

Looks like this is not common knowledge, so here's the link:

This enables monitor spanning on an iBook (do check the commpatbility
list; 8 meg video cards don't work) with a larger resolution on your
external display.
Thanks for the link.

I have had all Apple 'Books since the 100 series and I always opted
for the professional solution: and when Apple introduced the iBook

A video connector is a video connector is a video connector...if a
pin breaks off, it's broken. I've seen them broken on many machines.
the pin was missing from the cable from the projector to the laptop.
Without that pin ALL laptops (anything except the Aluminium,

My biggest issue with my AlBook is the lack of range for Airport compared to

I think that it depends on how you travel and how often. I have
traveled with my AlBook now for two years (I make 3 or 4 flights per
year) and I have never had an
The case on the G3 is nice, and though I'm not sure the target user
was quite 10 years old (it's a college thing, I think), the iBook is
a tough book overall. Personally, I can't see a single reason now
