Hi, gang. - just picked up a Series II Wallstreet 266.
It won't start up unless AC adapter's connected. It came with two BTI
batteries but neither one shows any charge lights when installed, and
there's no indication that they're charging.

Depends
Get AirPort or Airport Extreme card and have breakfast in Panera stores. All
their stores have free WiFi and they are in all major cities. Alternatively
you could sign-up for T-Mobile WiFi for 30 USD/month for unlimited access in
all Borders Bookstores, Starbucks Coffee shops and few other places.

My friend lives in his van; that's probably against the law, too. I had
no idea he was such a law-breaker!

You can go to libraries, Starbucks, restaurants, business. Some have
passwords but many don't. Chicago is building WIFI for the whole city
uping the taxes a bit to cover the costs.

You shouldn't need a password if it's a public place. Most times you
need a password are your own network sometimes and if you're at an
office with a closed wireless. But for a library, you should be able
to just tap in... make sure you look for weirdos before you do any
parking though. ;-)
I am going to be traveling in the USA for a couple months this summer.
Could some of you recommend some ISP options which would provide me
with at least dial-up access in most major cities?
Lawrence
You might check out access-4-free.
I've signed up for their free POP service for a $5 sign up
I have a friend with a airport extreme; he just parks outside libraries.

Hi all,
I noticed that when my pb wallstreet (OS 10.2.6; 512mb ram; 60gb hd;
original 266mhz G3 processor) is running lots of apps (powerpoint, word,
appleworks, photoshop 7, maybe a couple of other small apps) it starts to
run really slow, and gets really hot sitting on my lap, and I see that
So!!! sounds intresting! ;-)

3) Hit the I'm feeling lucky button, instead of the normal Google
search button

Is there a firmware update to this 3.1 Airport update?
I am using a Wallstreet PB with an Orinoco Card and a Snow base station. I
am using the third party driver from SourceForge.net.
I updated the PB software to 3.1 okay but there seems to nothing to update
the base station with. The latest
