Yes, the save feature is a major part of the game core, and has been for
quite a long time. I have no intention of taking it out, and it has
aided in the resolution of many bugs.

you to another location. They're quite fast, you need to spend seconds to
travel.
Other things, which you can travel with, but takes up more time to do so, are
