The worst feeling besides losing a game is winning one and then it crashes
with a lot of time invested.

Hi Gary,
Lol! Yeah, big crash. Though, it is very true. The older a program gets
it needs to be updated if the developer wishes it to remain with current
technology trends. Though, we have been down this road before and I
don't have any plans of venturing down it again.

Hi Gary,
Well, there is no way to create a function that will work with all the
games unless he edits them all by hand coding it 25 or 26 times. I can
understand where he is coming from not wanting to update 26 games at
once perhaps put it in the todo file for each game under consideration

the older they get the more they need maintenance.

Hi Gary,
Ok, I will look into fixing just the alt key thing in Monopoly right after I
get done what I am working on right now.
There is no way that I could write a function for all of my games that would
give them a pause feature that would just trap all keys except for the key to
un pause it.
Hi Trouble,
Some day when I no longer have any ideas for new games to work on and have
nothing better to do, I might then go back and up date everyone of my games to
use all of the new programming techniques that I have learned over the years.
But when I play the games now they all run bug fre

Sounds like Freedom Scientific and there stand on fixing bugs in
jaws. After all why fix bugs. People will either like playing with
them or quit, guess not a big lose.

Hi Thomas,
Yeah, I do understand people wanting to multi task or be able to alt tab in and
out of games. Especially like when they are playing them in the chat rooms.
The thing was that I did not know how to handle the alt f4 thing, so just
trapped the alt key. I now know how to handle the a

Hi Jim,
Yeah, not only that even on my new laptop I discovered most games
generally run more smoothly when screen readers, instant messengers, and
other applications are not running in the background. It really can be a
hastle when instant message popups pop up just when you were ready to

Hi Alex,
May I suggest, if you need to do something else during a game, use the save
game feature and come back to the game later.
My games do not like it if you use alt f4 to close the game. I did not know
how to solve that problem, so I trapped the alt key. Actually made it an egg.

Hi Thomas,
Yeah, like you I shut down everything else while playing a game. I mean even
though Monopoly is not like Mach 1, Pong, Shades of Doom or other live action
games I am playing a game and that is what I am doing. Guess I'm not used to
so much multi-tasking like others are.

Hi Alex,
Yes, I have seen that issue with some of Jim's games. Not exactly sure
what is up with that, but when playing his games it is best to play them
when you aren't going to be alt+tabbing through a bunch of apps.
