Has anyone gotten this to work? It worked just fine with all the other
latest dev kernels, as well as the mm sources as well. I even took the
.config from .75 dev kernel with no luck.
anyone have any ideas how to get hyper threading to work on 2.6 test?

There are ways to make your own custom livecd for gentoo, although the
documentation seems to be pretty slim atm. There are various threads on
http://forums.gentoo.org
There is also a livecd-ng ebuild, that is supposed to do what you ask, but
again, I hear the documentation etc is pretty slim.

ahhh, yes, acpi does have a problem w/ some systems for some reason. I had
this EXACT issue w/ one of my scsi systems, took me forever to figure it
out.
Youll just have to take acpi out of the kernel, and all will be well.

I would imagine, its either bound by cabling, the servers performance
(cpu,ram, hard drive speed, dont forget the client's speed) or the switch.
