Kevin,
I was confused when I starting reading this thread, i.e. "My Vista won't fit
into larger hospital IT network". At first glance I thought there was
a new "distribution" of VistA named "My VistA" or maybe that this was
regarding some really, really large hospital network (i.e. bigger than

Very nice. I hadn't thought of bypassing the input transforms by
specifying internal values. A very elegant solution!
Thanks

Seems like there is some problem with your clinic

As George stated, DA should be defined if you are editing an existing record. DA() is a documented Fileman variable. If you are usig UPDATE^DIE and you are absolutely sure that you want to add it, then why not use UPDATE^DIE passing in Fileman internal entry values for the fields instead of exter
Dan,
I have gone through several iterations since encountering this
problem, but I initially thought that the UPDATE was all or nothing.
But I am now working on another field, and it seems that the record
was created, and just the filing in that one field failed.
By the way, is there any formal

Out of curiosity, was the UPDATE^DIE call erroring out or that field just

Agreed. The installation scripts and all are nice, but still, you have

Could we provide a standard interface channel and see if PMS systems
could meet us half way? I don't know what that interface would look
like, but I suspect others would.

Yes, the context issue is what I do not fully understand. I will need to
study it more. The RPC call I am writing is for software written by ILC.
It will not be called by CPRS.

I love Konsole with all of it's nice options, so I hunted around and found I
could set it for vt100(historical), so I gave that a whirl with no luck. I
will try some of the others.
