Got a question myself about the mapcycle you may know about... in my
mapcycle.txt file (my maplist.txt is just as yours is) I have the nine maps,
plus I added maps like aztec, dust2 and italy in there an extra time each, the
reason being to have the server cycle to the more
Alfred I need your help...
I was looking thru some archives and noticed some linux server
operators having this problem where a large amount of players would
get dumped off the server. It would look like clients were
disconnecting normally from the server, but they were all really
getting an

What type of router / modem is your server running behind?
Linksys routers and Actiontec modem/routers have been known to cause this.

It also happens to my players and my server very often. My server is set up on

I have been running AMX and AMX Mod X. Maybe it's releted to those products or
even metamod. I really can't say. The problem occurs on the client side so
the logs are useless - you have to experience this yourself to even see the
error message.
No, we run servers without those and it still happens

could it be something as simple as the characters in the players name - if
they are in a certain order it will cause the players to drop.

Did you add the maps to the mapcycle.txt or the maplist.txt?
If you added them to the maplist.txt it might just deny them but if you
added them to the mapcycle.txt then it should still rotate without a problem
I will do some checking

This problem is why I stopped playing CS 1.6. I would get the svc_bad error
and get dumped from 1.6 atleast once a day. Also, I would get lagged out by
a flush_entity packet and have to do a consoledump to stay connected to the
server I was on
