This is usually caused by an attack which simply floods the server with
queries (usually A2S_INFO).
This happened on one of my servers a few months ago (running on Linux), and
the offending IP address was owned by NFO. I contacted them and had a good

You may need to download dev snapshot builds instead of the regular
version. Remember that using wine doesn't mean 100% compatibility so there
may be things that don't work. Since you are using wine make sure you are
using windows version of source mod and metamod dev builds.

The only thing I think would be possible is to make a plugin check the
weapons you have on the event of a weapons load out, then use tf2items to
give you that same item. That way the player still has their weapon but it
will be a regular unique one. Might be a little too intense though :P

works, but there should be no untrusted native code running in the same
process as the game. Plugins are untrusted. It's (IMO) an architectural

I am getting crashes and lockups on our server as well. I have gone to the
latest snapshot of 1.2.X SM and still no luck. I have gotten rid of all the
extra plugins and still keeps happening. It does not matter what map we are
