Mike, I didn't mention Cache partitioning :-) I don't think it is appropriate for the problem you have described so far. I'm confused that you are saying the DB2 IO is low, when you previously described these as fairly active disks. If the consolidation was a folding of whole volumes, then you

Radoslaw, Wouldn't the issue with the DWDM auto-negotiation depend on the DWDM manufacturer and Card type? The paragraph below makes this sound like the FICON channel is DWDM aware and will not negotiate down to the speed supported by the DWDM or TDM card from any vendor. Ron Similar, but

Ron, I don't think it depends. All IBM FICON cards in the host has no capability of setting the speed. So they have to autonegotiate the speed. And of course there are no non-IBM FICON cards inside the z10 ;-) DWDM - of course I mean any optical multiplexer, it can be coarse WDM, TDM or

This was not a cosolidation, Only new table datasets have gone to the new MOD-27 disks(no logs, no catalogs). The disks in question have an IORATE of about 5 IO/sec with a response time of 20-25 ms. The CU is a new one - so there is not much else happening on it. I am going to look in to the
