Can you elaborate on him? and maybe send a picture?
Hello Wanda,
I just got through all my messages after being gone for the weekend and
was shocked to see the news of Gusti!! I remember when he was born and how
distinctive his facial markings were. It was so nice to watch him grow
along with the list. I am sooo very sorry to hear of your lo
I think they are trying to tell you that they are not totally comfortable
in their new home yet, and being separated (even for a short time) is
causing additional anxiety.
Just my humble opinion

Hi Jennifer, and welcome to the list. I'll take a stab at answering your
questions and I am sure others will chime in...
Can I use a western saddle on her?
You can use any saddle that fits her Western, endurance, English

I think the coverage afforded by the vaccine lasts for a shorter period of
time with the WN vaccine than it does for the EEE and the WEE and the
Tetanus vaccines. B

Even 2 or three years of "Fostering" prior to being granted permanent

Hi Debbie,
Do you know if there is any documentation re: the shoeing to manipulate
her way of going? A co-worker said that he had heard nothing about it and
refuses to believe that it was or could have been done. I would like to be
able to show him that he is wrong if possible. Are there a
It is a sinking water heater that uses standard electrical power. It sits
on the bottom of the water tank. I was worried that the fish would get to
cose to it, but apparently they were able to discern how close was safe and
stayed away from it.
Pat G., in MN
I'm sure you could do that, but if it is shallow and you are in an area
that has cold enough weather for it to freeze solid, you will lose your fish
in the winter unless you catch them and bring them inside.
I used to keep fish in my water tank but one year my tank water heater

I used to stack my square bales on pallets in my barn (no hay loft) until
the varmints (skunks) decided that was a great place to live (under the
hay - between the two layers of the pallets). If I were going to stack my
hay on pallets again I would be sure they fit snugly against each other a
Isn't that interesting? I have two Webster's dictionaries (they are both
very old). The 1984 edition has both spellings in it and the 1992 "expanded"
edition only has one (mold).
I wonder what I would find in a more current edition...h

Judy, Was there supposed to be an attachment with this?
Pat G., in MN
Hi Mic,
According to my dictionary mould is the British derivitive of mold. It
does not say that one or the other is correct. Either spelling may be used.
Just FYI...:-)...

Hi Renee,
I feed with round bales...
When I first started feeding with them I would have my neighboring farmer
deliver one whenever I needed one. His tractor was not capable of tipping
them up on end though and it would take at least three of us to do so. I
would then roll the round bale
Janice,
I am always amused when people that are not horse oriented are here and

Thanks Susan... This is some very good information. I have been

I am going to guess Arabian and 20 years old... ;-) just to say "something".
This horse looks alot like the one that I ride for my riding lessons that is

I had a co-worker out to the "farm" a week or so ago and she was just astounded

Here, in the US, if I need to send a money order to someone in another country,
I simply go to the Post Office and purchase an International Money Order. It
is only a little bit more expensive than a domestic one and there has never
been any problem cashing them.
Just my 2 cents worth
"We are a product of our environment" ... I don't know who it was that

Oh boy, I can relate to this Wanda! I have one (Icelandic gelding) that
somehow manages to figure out how to get out when he is allowed to be in the

we have not yet figured out where it is that he gets out.

Hi Karen,
When I trail ride I always slide the halter on OVER the bridle. It does not
"rub" on the head any differently then than it would when it is the only thing
on its head. I have always had good results this way since the halter is
usually larger and the bridle is usually "fitted" to

When I am taking my riding lessons and the horse I am riding does this, my
instructor told me that I need to give a little squeeze just before the jump to
make the horse go a bit faster. They will then jump instead of just trot or
canter. It has worked for me every time I have done it.

Maybe you sit just a little bit further back than your daughter does... It
would change the point of balance and make Gat more prone to pace and/or tolt.
Try leaning just a bit more forward and see what happens.

I think that this picture was altered... Look at the shadows. Also if the dog
were that size proportionatly to the horse it would have to wiegh at least 600
pounds, not 282. Just compare the body mass and its head t the horse. The
horse looks to be an average sized Arab and I would guesstimate

I have been reading your thread and would like also to make a comment

It has been my understanding that the greatest threat is to imported horses.

Hi Wanda,
I just saw an ad and small article about this in a farm magazine. It is a
hand pump for milking an animal that uses suction by pumping with the "trigger"
handle. It makes it so that you can use the free hand to "control" the horse
while milking it with the other hand. Very inovat
