the server using Netscape one of the students applets gets load by all
the other students pages. This only happen on the server. Instead of showing the
actual students applet it shows an students applet. All the class are named the
same.

i may be wrong, but i think the idltojava compiler with JacORB if pure java,
and you should be able to use it on linux. check it out at
http://www.inf.fu-berlin.de/~brose/jacorb/
btw, the JacORB script to run the compiler is called idl rather than
idltojava.

Howdy again, y'all, and forgive yet another JDK/JCE question. I grabbed an
open implementation of the Sun JCE from http://www.openjce.org (it supplies the
Twofish algorithm, which I need). Untarring it presented with a whole bunch of
files. At any rate, in /home/rjhansen/jce-aba-1.1/lib-1.2 the
oject about this problem, the newsgroups didn't
turn up any help, and a quick browsing of the archives of this list
didn't turn up anything, either.
So please, if you're going to flame about "RTFFAQ", keep in mind I've

I've done a couple installs of Oracle 8i on RH6.0 and 6.1. There are some
interesting gotchas, if this isn't too far off topic.
Using a newer jre than Oracle's recommended 1.1.6v5 will often (not
always) work as far as installing the software itself, but for me the
install program would then bomb

getting "null" from that method invocation (unless of course, your query
string looks like http://...?name1=null).
Printing the return value of getParameter("name1") will print "null" or
"", however.

Just puttering around with the benchmark. Had no problem on Win32 and Netscape
Linux but get an OutofMemory error on the benchmark when it goes to run the AWT

find anything about endianness or byte order. Then again, I didn't
read the whole darn lot.
I now have two different opinions. Some say Java is big-endian, some
say it depends which machine it's on. Who's right?

want to load remote classes. So far as I can tell, the bytecodes are
correct and the verification failure is the only problem, but I'm
not sure.
