The deck talk sapi that is used by the different screen readers was
made just for those readers. So using any part of it is considered a
hack of the copy rights.
Also those companies look for stuff like this so they know who to go after.

Good Morning All.
I have a question regarding the System Restore feature. I am currently using
JAWS 11 with Windows Vista (32 bit). I know for a fact (or at least in my
experience) that JAWS does not work well with the system restore function
because it does not read some of the operations.
personally, I never had a problem using it. But with me and something
don't read. i rout jaws to pc and read or right click on what I need.
That makes it about as accessible as you can get. Jaws only has power if used.

Unfortunately jaws cannot read system restore in safe mode because there are no
sound drivers loaded. I have heard that if one uses a usb headset that this is
possible. I don't have one so cannot verify this one.

NO problem. I understand that Jaws works well with system restore in normal
operations. I just had a problem when I had to boot my computer into safe
mode because of a problem with Jaws. When Jaws is active and working it
works fine(smile).

Hi All,
How do you turn off the announcement of tab stops in a word document by jaws
versions 9 and also version 12?.
A couple of PC's in our classroom has this issue and would appreciate any
help you can give.
Many thanks,
Paul.

As far as Vista 32, System Restore works at least on my system.
I have heard of some issues with Win 7 though.

The only way I think you can get any speech in safe mode is with NVDA and a
USB soundcard.
Here is a post from a different list by a guy who has a method to get speech
in safe mode. He doesn't use Jaws though.
Hi,
for all the techies who havent heard about this yet.
audio in safe mode,
Note that in Outlook 2007 there are a couple of radio buttons that are
important.
Open the address book and tab around until you find one of two options:
Name Only
More Columns.
If the radio button for, More Columns is checked, you will not see any names
displayed.
Arrow to the Names only radio
Yep, safe mode is the problem for speech, no driver.
However, saw a fix posted and not tried yet it should work.

Speaking of spell check, since the latest update to Jaws, my spellcheck
keeps telling me word is not available and I can tab to suggestions and
usually figure it out but sometimes I really need to see the word that is
incorrect.
My word with control backspace is fixed now spellcheck is a mess.
Actually if you go into options and proofreading, you should be able to find
a checkbox or check spelling before sending, personally I wish everyone
would keep it turned on, based on some of the messages I see, and this goes
for sighted users as well is blind.
Oh, go figure, now spell check is

Thank goodness I can use Outlook any flavor, so glad I don't have to mess
