I tried to enter not only the default it was offering me [fd0] but also overriding it
with /dev/fd0, but it told me there was no such device or some such nonsense.
All this is moot, from the sounds of it anyway, if v1.0.1 fixes it.
Thanks again for the hard work!

That's what I meant. Commenting the exit 0 in /etc/init.d/sshd
allows that script to run through to its end, during which time
it attempts to start sshd stand-alone.
In addition to comm

I am not sure what "better" is comparing to. I don't know that there is
consistency between distros with respect to commenting out sshd in
inetd.conf or not, so no part

Wouldn't be better to comment the exit 0 in the scripts released by Jacques
?
In the current situation, we must edit something to make it work
( the script or the inetd.conf)
if the default script has the exit 0 commented, it will work stand alone. If
one
wants inetd then she must edit 2 files (t

Is this notation valid?
Tony was using the $ symbol on the
other two interfaces, then he used the &.
I've never seen it before. Is that bash/ash/ksh?
Thanks,

If you comment out the ssh line in inetd, be sure to
have a look at /etc/init.d/sshd because it often has
these lines in it, at the top:
echo "Sshd started vi inetd."

Has anyone configured Dachstein-CD to use a wanpipe card?
I started with LRP 2.9.8 then switched to eigerstein kernel to support
ipsec. I am unable to get ipsec running so I have decided to start from
scratch with Dachstein-CD.
I have had no previous problems with wanpipe but I don't get an in

Don't you need to have support for serial console in the kernel as well?
Oh...

CONFIG_SERIAL_CONSOLE=y
Well there you go then :-)

I ran into the 1st half of your problem. To resolved it when booting from
CD I added a pkgpath.cfg to the floppy to tell it where the packages are.
For me the file contains:
/dev/fd0:msdos,/dev/hda:iso9660
After adding that, the floppy drive was in the list back up destinations.

I have a Packard Hell computer, Packmate 6200 (stop laughing), and

in the BIOS. Anyway, if I had the BIOS set to try A then C, when I used the

You can simply add a serial console entry to /etc/inittab, and you'll get a
serial console. Of course, without changing your syslinux configu

Is there a way to modify my Dachstein firewall to use a time zone identifier
in its' logs? Such as "00:18:00 EST" or such? Thank you in advance!

i all,
I am trying out the latest oxygen release (may) and can't seem to get
masquerading working. For now what I have done is download the boot
disk, booted from it and loaded the necessary nic modules.
I then receive an ip adress through dhcp on my external interface,
the ip internally is 192
