Hey,
I was wondering... I like that 'ae' editor in the Bering distro. Where can
I find that? I'm wanting to put it on my other machines (mandrake, slack)
for quick editing on things.
thanks

Hello,
I had a power outage yesterday morning, my leaf box wasn't affected because
it's on a UPS. However my external modem is connected to the surge
protector part of the UPS, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be
working. It was working fine prior to the power outage.
I've plugged the mod
the only way I
mount floppies via console is
mount -t msdos /dev/fd0u1680 (or 1440, etc).
Thanks for the suggestion though :)
Patrick

Hello,
I'm currently using Bering v1.0-rc3 & it works great... when it works.
Anytime I want or need to make a change it's ok until I have to save to a
floppy & then this causes all kinds of problems. I can change 1440 floppies
fine between all 5 of my computers with no problems. However, when
the grsec messages stop appearing. But this can take anywhere from 2-10
reboots & average is around 5. If it was consistently the same package I
would simply figure it's a problem with the package or that space on the
floppy, but it seems

Hello,
I have a Linksys 10BaseT/BNC Ethernet Combo card (I think it's LNE2, it's
definately PCI) I was hoping to use for my DSL connection. So far the only
info on the appropriate drivers I've found has suggested using tulip.
However, tulip works fine to get my newer Linksys 10/100BaseT LAN Card

Hello,
I'm having problems when the computer boots. It gets as far as starting to
load the packages, but after it starts loading the 1st or 2nd package it
reboots & starts all over. I've tried several things including using my old
dos norton's diagnostics disk & ran a burn in for 2 hours no pro
Hello,
I've been trying to get some Linmodem drivers to work correctly with Bering
1.0-rc3. The drivers work on my p350 with RedHat installed with both the
2.4.0 & 2.4.9-13 kernels. After compiling I end up with 2 files - pctel.o &
ptserial.o. I've put both of these in /lib/modules & made chan
