Donna,
I agree that the dating of sources is very confusing so, to simplify matters
for myself, I only use two at the very most. I use the Census Date for the date
on which the Census Source was created - purists may argue with this but I
can't ever remember being pure. This I put in the Maste

Donna,
Are you talking about the Events column
Donna,
Are you talking about the Events column on the assigned sources screen? Just
the basic name of the event shows up here. No details for any sources or events
show up in this column. Also, theoretically, the access date pertains to the
source and not the event.

Ron,
Thanks for taking a look at it as well. I have come up with the following:
Basic Source A used to cite only husband's relationship to father and mother:
Husband relationships: Father and mother - correct
Wife relationships: Father and mother - Not sourced - correct
Child-Par. Rel. for husba
I just thought that the detail date should be a date in the event. It is a
date that I typed in, it doesn't appear on it's own. Oh well, this is not
the first time I was wrong. Sorry.

Donna,
Why is this a problem - it seems to me to be the correct behaviour? Or are you
saying that you are not putting the accessed date in, and the program is
automatically adding it?

Donna,
Sorry, I'm still confused. Where are you expecting to see the access date? The
access date is always part of the source detail and not part of the master
source. The publish date is part of the master source. I guess I'm also not
understanding what the "detail field for the detail" means
When I created the source I used master source. I filled in the generic
form. Then I go to the assigned sources and click edit detail. Then I
enter in the date I collected the information on-line. When I get through

Tom,
I do not have the knowledge to help solve your mysteries, but if I have any
problem with any record, I find it interesting to see the date when the
individual was added, marriage added and when modified. Might help to see if
the record was imported, or if all problem records were modified o

OK let's try again. When I fill in the template for a record of death (ie.

I am confused too. Is "deaths" a master source you are using?

Sorry Donna, but I don't understand at all. If you go to the Source Detail and
enter a date then it will appear as a Source Detail. Perhaps you can spell out
exactly what you mean. I'm probably having a bad hair day - or would be if I
had any!

I have V7.0.0.55 and have been entering my sources and data that I failed to
record in FTM 2008. I go to the edit detail screen for deaths and enter the
date I accessed information, the date shows in the detail field. What am I
doing wrong?

Occasionally I may not be sure that the children I have listed in Legacy for

Ron,
Thanks for your thoughts. I have the other two mysteries solved. One
involved a marrage to an unknown ((that never happened) and the other
involved a previous marriage and children assigned to the wrong husband.
Don't know how that happened,

Tom,
Good to see it's getting sorted. It's quite easy to get a ghost marriage eg. if
a child is imcorrectly given to a woman, and then unlinked or deleted to
correct the error, the "marriage" to an unknown also needs to be deleted.

I cannot tell. What were your index settings? Is there any connection between

Rob,
It affects all marriages. One cannot individualise it and, I suspect, would be
impossible to program otherwise.

Jennifer,
Congrats on all the work which you have put in on this. I have now had a chance
to study effects in my own files, so firstly let us agree on one thing - that
there is not a problem with the old style sources (please exclude Child-Par Rel

This may be/have been complicated by my keeping my image files on a thumbdrive.
But it's still something I'd like to do.

I trust it that is true, but then this change will affect every marriage (I
assume...). I want the wording changed for a specific marriage. Is that
possibleor do I best edit the HTML output after generation?

Thanks, I will check.but I mostly work through HTML output. How can that
be done there? You know? If I understand correctly from your answer it is
not something you would edit in the marriage record (like other wording you
can change), but that is is report bound?
Thanks for helping, much appr
