I think I've got it worked out. I've backed up my files in 2 places. I think
I've got a backup of my files from Ver. 6 if I installed Ver. 7 in June. I
should be able to do a Restore from my external backup drive so I don't have
to do a gedcom. You have no idea how scared I am, though.

This gets stranger and stranger. Preparing to move from Ver.7 to Ver. 6
(have you ever heard of such a dumb thing, going backwards?) I am printing
every report I can think of just in case I lose my data files. I created an
Event Report in .pdf. Some of my Events say Harold's Marriage Notes, etc.
Do we know if the dll's have the same names or different ones? It is
true that I installed v.7 after v.6 and had no problem so possibly what
you're saying is true. I can't argue it from a place of knowing or not.

I have largely left comments in written reports to others as I am not a regular
user of them. However, I have had a look at the Descendant Report produced as
an rtf and viewed in Open Office. One thing stands out and I would ask you to
clarify what you mean by "Source Repetions" - is
I was recently persuaded by a friend to switch to Legacy, and so my only
experience of the programmes is confined to Version 7. After a month or so I
must confess, for all the reasons given previously, to now being less than
taken with it. I feel there is a very good programme in there, but it's

township, city, district or whatever and with respect to borderchanges;
I then use the 'short form' placename (which I can activate in reports)
for a more legible variation.
