I do believe you've found something that's at least a small improvement over
the reports we've been getting. Could you do another test and see if it
works? It's like this:
1. Recreate the Legacy report you did before that had source notes mixed
into the report. Create an RTF file,
And if you restore the v.6 backup you'll lose all the work you've done
since you installed v.7.

Guess what? I saw the new option today that Dave added that will allow you
to have the true RTF footnotes (as it currently is in v7) or the normal

duplication problem. We're hoping to do a new test build really soon. After

Kirsten,
I have tried this in OOo and whilst the footnotes transfer fine to the end of

There is a possibility (and I put it no stronger than that) that the problem

No, you don't need to install v6 to restore the backup files. They can be
restored in v7 and opened after the conversion process.
However if you have a backup from v7, then you would need to restore the
files in v7 and then create a gedcom to go to v6.
Thanks for using Legacy.

Ruth,
The programmers have been really busy working on bugs the past couple of
months. If you're patient enough, you may be pleasantly surprised.
The list is too long for me to specify what has been fixed but they've
worked on reports, SourceWriter and the Help file at the very least as well
Sherry,
Have they fixed the source template used for the Application for Social

Not if she imports the v7 file into the restored v6 file or vice versa. Just
make sure that the files have different names and that a backup is done
before the import and again before the merge.

Yes that works - both ways. One can use either the .fdb file or the backup .zip
copy from the PC to Flash/USB Drive, copy to the lap-top and restore or run on
