I have used personal knowledge for various facts that I would not actually
qualify as an interview. i.e. chatting with family at a reunion, wedding,
funeral or another get together. I do sub-divided them up a bit into spouse,
sibling, child, subject, and parent and have never used a name as the
I normally do transfer via the backup... this time the GeDCom file was
already created for an upload to my web page so decided to use it instead. I
have already replaced the file with a backup from my pc so there is no issue
there. However it also shows me that the data I have passed on to family

I have to agree, it would be nice to have samples that show what each setting
on the report options will generate. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult
to create. I had to take screen shots of certain SourceWriter screens and make
notes on them for future reference when entering similiar
If you set the generate married names to 0 it will only affect names going
forward and not any that have been entered up to time.

So then... the question is will the program convert the current locations
system wide or will I have to manually convert each location? If the system
will convert the names what are the steps to do so?

I have a number of questionnaires that I have received back from family
members. Any ideas on how to cite them using either source writer or the old

There are as probably as many different ways of titling your sources as

The previos version of Legacy (v6) had an event builder that you could

that feature available in the Deluxe version of v7, as I am only using the

Yes he can do that. He needs to click the download button from the Legacy
site and rather than click on the Run button click on the Save button. Once
that is done you can save the program to a CD or USB device for transfer to
your new computer.

I have used two methods to move my data for research. I have emailed myself
the data files and downloaded them to my notebook as well as moved them via
