I picked up that you file alphabetically, how would you
file a married couple
I can see that all unmarried people could be done by
alphabet but I just wondered do you file the husband and
wife separately

From one of the responses, I think I see where I went wrong in my posing my
question. I do not assign the MRIN to sources as I may have indicated.
What I'm concerned about is the possibility of scrambling all my MRIN data if

In your case, there is NO benefit to renumbering your MRINs (I wouldn't

Oops.. sent too quick.
First, sources are assigned to people marriages (RINS MRINS) not people
to sources.
So, when you renumber MRIN 12345 to MRIN 1 any sources assigned to MRIN
12345 are automatically

Somewhere I got a email about filing. I have followed this up and read it.

I think it is generally that way - but of course it is your choice.

Hi Anne,
I have all of my family lines in one file and I have my wife's family lines

One possibility: Use the Publishing Center as if you were producing a book,

Your batches of sheets are probably fairly stable, so you can create as many

Hi Anne,
I use three ring binders for each family or family line and within the
binder I use the MRIN filing system. I have an alphabetical index for that
family or families at the beginning of each binder so I can quickly find who
I am looking for. Then I start each MRIN file with a family
Hi Walt,

file?
In printing group sheets there is the option to print them in MRIN's but
only for the entire family file. There does not seem to be a way of printing
a focus group (say descendants) in MRIN order.
