I'm not sure but suspect GEDCOM problems were caused by leftover
files. I removed vers86 (but not totally) and installed v40 from CD.

the trial version, and I think that's where I am now. Have had some computer
problems lately. How could I proceed? Really want to get my macro media

The very best way to move your file would be make a regular Legacy backup (zip)
file and then restore that zip file on the other computer. The second computer
must be at the same version or newer for the restore to work correctly. You
could first upgrade the first computer to the newest versio

No. The trial and the deluxe version are the same installation. Your
deluxe version should have a number and instructions where to put it.
That unlocks the deluxe features.
