Carol,
If you click on the Index tab, all you have to do to get rid of the
RINs with the double S prefix is to go to the Options button in the
upper right corner and click to turn off

Hi Carol,
The real problem is how do I remove those with the same RIN as the
desired person??? The ones which are bogus have a “double S” prefix.
Where are you seeing this double S (§) as a prefix - is it in the Name
List, or the Index view, or somewhere else? I know this symbol is used

Carol,
I do not know what you mean by the pedigree numbering system, something I'm
afraid I've never heard of. RINs are allocated in the order in which
individuals are added to the database and I have mine set not to reuse epmty
numbers. I have never changed a RIN and have no intention of

Carol,
I had a similar problem when changing MRIN's. For whatever reason, Legacy
assigned me a husband named Unknown. I am not married, nor have I ever been
married. I deleted the marriage, which made the MRIN empty. I then set the
MRIN's to reassign the empty numbers with those marriages from
