I have two data files within Legacy. One file has approximately 700
more individuals than the other. which other is my main, current
working file. The bigger file has been downloaded from my Genes
Reunited entry, and the additional entries were added thereto by me,

No bug. Missing feature maybe.

Mike,
I wonder if the issue is the version Jim is using. His sig on his first post,
and also pointed out by someone, states that he is using V5. Deluxe. This
ability to control labels and wordings sounds like the sort of enhancement that
would be made as new versions are released.
If that's
The ability to change wording for marriages is a new feature in
Version 7. It does not exist in versions before that so any discussion
of labels for unmarried couples and the wording of sentences for
unmarried couples will only apply to Version 7. Karen and Jim indicate
they are using Version 5.0
Some of my Legacy Genealogy Software (LGS) database files have names of
xxx.fdb, while others have an alpha added to it, like
xxx-A~1.fdb. The alphas are A - C - D - L - M - N - O. When opening and using
the files with or without alphas, I detect no
difference. What could be the meaning? Can
Hi Peter,
Let me see if I've got this straight... you have one file, let's call
it MAIN.fdb which is your main working Legacy file. The other, let's
call it OTHER.fdb, started out as a copy of MAIN.fdb and then was added
to. Now you want the content of OTHER to be the content of MAIN. Is
that
To my memory, (decades ago) I got my log-in and the LDS may now control closer
than before, but I expect they will want you to sign up, they happily share
their stuff? Tell them you are not Mormon, but a genealogist, and your non
Mormon nephew has his log in and you want to look at his data. I
Not really. I was sharing with my family member how to find my database on the
LDS page, but some issue has come up, and I will see this to the finish, no
biggie.

I'm about to download the latest build. Every time I download a new build I

Copy your Legacy.usr file to a safe place. That has all the settings
from Options Customize. The Legacy2.usr file contains your current
screen sizes and positions. There are other .usr files but they are for
reports etc. and should not be affected by an update. For that matter
neither should your
I did wonder along the same lines as Wendy, but Peter, if you are anything
like me, my Genesreunited Tree is a GEDCOM loaded files comprising a
stripped down version of my main family file, and hence I would lose too
much data by doing it that way. In fact I did not make any suggestion

Brian,
This is good to know. Thanks Brian.
I'll tag your email as a keeper.
For now I can live with this issue.
As y'all know now, I'm still using v.5 Deluxe
on an old PC that would be retired in business.
This pc does only Legacy. No Internet connection.

Also remember to backup the Color Schemes folder. Saved searches or report
optionssuch as saved tagged reports are backed up there. Legacy puts them in
the Color Schemes folder; an acknowledged bug. Support has confirmed that
several saved reports are saved in the Color Schemes folder. I am
