list of all couples that have 'marriage notes' and/or 'marriage
pictures' ?

The only way you can see where pictures are linked is in the View >

Michele, I have been "away" from the group for a few months, but does Legacy
now allow you to view/open PDF files within the app?
Ed, I was going to suggest you copy/paste the text of the story into the Notes
of an EVENT, rather than the General Notes. If the story is in a separate

Paula,
If you are in the Media Gallery and you double click the pdf it will open the
pdf up in Adobe Reader. You are correct in that the contents of the pdf will
not print in reports. There are a couple of workarounds for this. You can

you can still copy the tagged people (maybe the term is "export"?) to a new,

Yes, I'm catching up on reading LUG threads, but in the meantime I would
appreciate your accumulated wisdom.
Thanks
Jane, I use the research notes for my own notes about outstanding research (I
mean, research yet to be completed, haha). Once the research is completed,

Michele,
I usually just open the first child's source window, copy the citation to the
clipboard, open the second child's source window, and copy the citation from
the clipboard.
I tend to work more like Jenny does, though I will keep the ability to process

Jane,
Here is what I do.
I use the General Notes for biographical information. I like to write at least
a paragraph (usually quite a bit more) on every one of my direct line ancestors
and their siblings and siblings spouses. Basically it is a synopsis of their
life. It gives me a bit of a
I have a Samsung tablet and downloaded the Legacy software but was unable to
find it (not sure if it downloaded to the tablet at all). Did a search for
Legacy in 'Play Store' but could not find it. Is it possible to load Legacy on

Legacy is a Windows program and won't run on Android or iOS devices. It
*will* run on the Windows Surface Pro, which has the full version of

You need to get "Families" by Telgen. Their website is

Lee,
No, Legacy is a Windows program and will only run on a PC. It cannot be
installed on an Android o/s. The Legacy website goes into considerable detail
with suitable versions of Windows.
Provided that you have Legacy on a PC you can, however, sync. it with an app
called Families, available
Wow, wildly behind on testing this, but if you enter a couple's appearance on
the census as a marriage event, those two will show up in the census search

I would appreciate hearing specifically how your usage of shared events is
different from/better than using the event clipboard.
I know the "role" isn't in the clipboard process.
I've read here that the GEDCOM export is not as pretty with shared events.
Other than that, what is your experience?
Are there other options that should be set BEFORE a conversion???

Make sure that
Instead of asking a whole lot of questions about what Legacy v8 does and
doesn't do, why don't you download it and have a look around?
It installs in a different place to previous versions, so it is easy to
keep your current version and data file intact and have them both
running at the same time.
Wow, these shared events threads are nearly over-whelming! Or maybe I've just
been at the computer too long today. ;)

Just trying to get up-to-date on the main points of 'contention' before I do.
Your "can't be (easily) reversed" only reinforces my caution, Wendy! ;)
As it is, I don't really think you have to set "event notes ON" before you
convert to make sure your event notes are converted... duh.

Kathy, Did you ever receive an explanation why or how the contents of your
