Steve, On the import Gedcom screen check Try to keep original ID numbers AND uncheck Fill all existing abandoned RINs/MRINs Also make sure that the existing Legacy file doesn't have any RINs in the range you are importing or the RIN can't be kept. My first genealogy program was one called

Agreed, some folks have way too much to say about minor issues. Legacy, runs on a Microsoft Access database structure and as such is able to run on a wide variety of hardware configurationsbut sometimes there is a hiccup when Legacy encounters non-conforming hardware or out of date drivers

Nothing. Media files are not transferred via Gedcom, At best a Gedcom includes the name of the media file and where it resides on your computer - the file path. It's time I deleted my Ancestry file and uploaded a new one. If you want media on your Ancestry file you upload it one file at a time.
