which need changing. It is this master default which governs what you see in
the couple's Marriage Screen options, where you can change them

you change the wording for an unknown spouse to read
I use and have done so for a long time, (_) in place of an unknown
name when I am entering a new person. This way it prints out in my reports
like the example below. I don't have to do anything more unless I discover
the missing name. It is easy to edit and type in the name, once known.

a missing spouse.
You could make a suggestion that the report be changed to use blanks for
missing spouses on our suggestion page. You can access that using the
