After running Check/Repair the following examples are appearing on the
Descendant report for some records only.
DEATH:RIN MH:1F269
RESI:RIN MH:IF292
DSCR:RIN MH:IF260
and also MARR:RIN MH:FF2
Upon investigation I find they are arbitrarily recorded in the General or
Marriage notes.

Shirley, These looks suspiciously like tags for GEDCOM files. Did you import
data from another application? It may be that something came into Legacy & it
didn't know where to put it, so to speak, so it recorde

Looks like no one has the answer as there hasn't been
any more Reponses, even though it must be quite common if it has happened

sharing in the interface to LDS the user has to manually click on a
button in the display to download any information, be it a single event
for someone or adding a new person. Of course when you add a new person
