Hi Pat,
The first "BOOK" s are actually B Zero Zero K - numbers sort before letters of
the alphabet.

Pat,
It appears your first 4 entries have book spelled with 00's (number zeroes)
and the last 2 with oo's (letter ohs)

four listings by changing the number "0" in
the word B00K to the capital letter "O" so it reads BOOK . It should now sort

INET - B00K - BIO - P_McC_Bea_DYSART-James by Griffith
INET - B00K - EXTR - PRICKETT-JohnPrerog Ct of Cant Mocavo
INET - B00K - ORAL HIST - PRICKETT-Charles F fam UCLA
INET - B00K - ORAL HIST - PRICKETT-Ma
Because it looks like B00K – B-zero-zero-K, not B-O-O-K. Numbers come before
letters, therefore, B-zero comes before B-O.

I think it is because it is best to use complete identifiers. The
accepted state codes have changed over time and of course, if you are
doing international work many of those people aren't familiar with our
codes (just as we might not be with theirs). Always better to be clear

It really doesn't matter. It's your list and you're the one who has to
be able to find things in it, unless or until Legacy programs it for

I sort mine by type. And that 'type' would probably fall under Family

Pat - I agree that there are many ways to approach this issue. The key
is to find a system that makes sense to you and then stick with it -
be consistent and spend the time at the outset to play around and get
it right (for you). Personally I found that breaking things up by type

Take a look
If I'm understanding your question - I started out listing my Master
Sources by type. Then I decided they work better by location. My cousin
talked me into it when we started to share databases. So I changed most
of them. Now I just have to remember to search for them that way.

Now I'm thinking I'd like to have the categories together -- e.g., books,
