Directors,
I have to preload a 300 MB Video File before a particular frame. This gobbles up a
considerable amount of time (30-60 seconds, maybe).
I want some sorta preloading event to happen untill and unless the video is ready to
play.
How do I address this issue.

Is the font that you used when you created the text cast members installed
on the computer with Windows NT? Is it going to be installed on all users'
computers? Is it a standard font that is installed with all versions of
Windows that your users will have?

I think what Stephanie was saying is something I've noticed, too. If you
don't have a browser open, the JavaScript window.open function actually
opens two instances of the browser. One is the size you specify,

Not really in D5. Z-order didn't appear until D7, if I recall.
If it's the locked-position sliding tile game, then you wouldn't want one
piece on top of another anyway, so it wouldn't be a problem. If it's

I should probably clarify.
All I did with Director is check to see if Reader is installed and if not
then run the installer. After that the connection between Reader and
Director is finished.

Actually, I wouldn't expect deleting an instance using list operations (ie.
deleteOne) would cause any problems with only one object in the script
instance list either. My understanding of the problem is that deletion
confuses the list index so that subsequent items in the list may be skipped

You can open .KAR files in QuickTime Player, save them as .MOV, and
they work fine in Director. The music plays using QuickTime
instruments, and the text highlights in time with the music.

The only way to make Director move faster (assuming you already have it set
at 30fps) is to reduce the number of sprites on the stage at once, or reduce
the number of alpha channels you are using (in images), etc. If you have a
lot of stuff out there, even if it isn't doing anything, it slows Dir

the problem myself by taking my original sound files and resaving them a
different way. It was crazy that I had to do this but I guess QT for Windows

year that they were going to partner with Intel to put 3D into Shockwave. I
