Hi Listers, I was wondering if anyone knows a way of re-compiling scripts
using lingo only? (eg. the equivalent to either hitting tab on an open
script, or choosing 'recompile all scripts' from the menu)

Doesn't work in authoring for me either. Works in projector and shockwave
though.
Try explicitly setting the browserName before calling the gotoNetPage.
Director might be getting confused between Netscape and IE.

Preload will download the entire thing, and use a *lot* of hard drive
space, plus taking forever. You would need to loop forever on a frame,

The MIAW mask does work, but it'll only happen when the MIAW is called from
a projector - it does NOT work while in author-mode.

I can get it to work miaw, but unfortunately I think the client wants this
as a desktop app, so for the moment forsaking a folder/files install and
thinking as one projector, can I actually do the stage as alpha'd out?

You _can't_ use a 40 Mb movie. Not unless it's going to be off a LAN or
your users have lots of time to wait for the download.
QT movies can be set to stream from the cast member properties, but you
usually need to do some tweaking with the score layout before you can use

This has happened often with me. So after checking for a netError, I also
check that the netTextResult is not EMPTY or VOID. To make sure that the
web page is not pulled out from the cache, you can append a question mark
to the end of the address.

I am putting together a game that makes several calls to asp pages to

That's a little different, in that it uses a value to find a prop to go
with it. Unfortunately, by using GetOne, you let Lingo go through and find
a prop for a given value, which besides being slow(er), will fail if you
have the same value under two different props. Consider:

Well, only if the current movie is embedded in the projector. Always
using stub-projectors this would only be the case very briefly.

Well this is a job I´m doing for a job partner in a different country. A
company made the game for the webb and I really dont know why he cant get
