You won't need any iLO license for just power control. I'm quite sure
about that.

In the ha.cf on each host I have:

Why not just run 2+ instances of ldirectord, managing different
virtual IPs, and mapping them into one DNS name?
Like this:

www.xxx.com IN A ip2
WWW.xxx.com IN A ip3
ip1,ip2,ip3 are all ldirectord-managed virtual IPs. Since

I also thought this since I'm using Mac OS as my desktop since four
month ago. For now, my solution is running a Linux in VMware Fusion

I think to compile hb_gui on Mac OS, the GUI part

let the CIB synchronizes the files itself.
the most common reason for the files to get out-of-sync, is if some
other process (human or automated) modified the on-disk copy
config into one central cfengine
server and use Subversion to track their changes. And yes, when I
create a HA cluster from scratch, cfengine help me put every file at
their right position.

Hi, there
If you're using HA 2.x, maybe you should show some parts of your
cib.xml. I have running DRBD HA clusters, and I think the key is in

Isn't anybody able to give a hint why promoting the DRBD-instance
fails? :(

Hi, Dave
I use Dell Servers and use the DRAC (Dell Remote Access Card) as the
stonith. It supports IPMI and am using external stonith. See my
earlier post for setup. About $300/card.
As I know (and try), DELL x850, x950 Servers without DRAC card can
also support IPMI (=1.5).

Hi, there
I have tested stonith from the command line and was able to reset the
target PC. On the command I used the following:
stonith -t external/ipmi -T reset -p capestor2 10.43.120.134 ADMIN
mypassword capestor2
This worked marvelously! So then I move the stuff into the ha.cf.

Hi,
So far as I know, I don't think any similarity between Linux-HA and
OpenMosix. They do different job: one for server resource HA (resource
of any type), the other for computing resource management. Don't know
about RedHat Cluster.

Hi, Ryan
Why not just use IPMI? I have some Dell PE2950 too, and all PE2950
(with and without DRAC card) can activate a IPMI interface, which is
enough for stonith use, though you may have to use the external/ipmi
but the stonith2/ipmilan.

Hi, Johan
I have some HP DL360 too. Does DL360 support a IPMI LAN interface?
After I've installed hp-OpenIPMI, I only got a KCS interface, but no LAN
found, strange:

What's haclient? You mean the hb_gui program?
I just change hacluster's password, and use hacluster as user to login
to heartbeat.
