Hello All,
I don't know if this is a dumb question or not but
I have recompiledmy RH7.2 Kernel to include support for ntfs and dynamic
disk volumes(It's living on the same disk as XP).
What I would like to know is there a method of

My initial experience with this distro is positive:
1) Download and burn two cd's worth of day (about 1hr:45mins on cable, 40
minutes to burn on my slow cd-writer.
2) Boot from CD (I have to toggle this setting on my BIOS each time). The CD

How much do you know about LPRng?
Do you understand printcap files and filters?

Hi there! I have three problems configuring red hat 7.2.

Bill, please trim your posts. You posted a 115 byte comment in a 28KB

As for the RPMs you installed, the official Caldera RPMs for KDE2
installed it *WITH* KDE1, not in replacement of KDE1.

Symlinks shouldn't use up any more inodes than the symlink itself needs

just mount /mnt/hda4/opt as /opt in fstab and get rid of the symlink?

I have posted this before but didn't understand the answers, but now I need to
really do something about it.
My / partition is filled, but the amount of data in it is minimal, to wit:
/dev/hda1 3.7G 3.6G 0 100% /
/dev/hda3 1.4G 1.1G 216M 84% /mnt/hda3

I did a bit more digging and it seems that the newer aic7xxx driver is

Well, its occuring because the new aic7xxx driver utilizes a maximum tag
queue depth of 255 tags. Your devices are supporting only a maximum tag
count of 110, so it's throttling it downward. Also these 'error'
messages should only appear once and no more (until a reboot).
I know this isnt' really

Unfortunately, i'm not much of an expert on KDE2. I just know that kdm
requires the ability to authenticate users, and it seems like that
ability is failing. You didn't comment on my question, who built kdm
for you? Was it precompiled already, or did you build it from source?

Have you tried making /opt/kde a symlink to /opt/kde2?
Could be a hard-coded script somewhere mucking things up.

Excuse me pointing this out, but many different distros use many different
methods to start X - hence the advice is not quite as pointed as you might
like.
What are you using? 2 start files are /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc (aka
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/xinitrc), and /etc/X11/xsession. Distro

As for USB support, 2.2.19 seem to be appropriate - worked fine for me with
an USB scanner.
