Hi,
Newbie question:
I'm trying to telnet to a linux server. If I login as root I can access the server but when I login as a new user - "Login incorrect". Is there any telnet configuration that I need to do on the server?

I'm running Mandrake 8.1/LTSP installed. I edited the

following for my ws003 workstation

AutoLoginEnable=true
AutoLoginUser=user1
AutoReLogin=true

Hi All,
Our users were using "net send" under Windows to send pop-up messages to
each other.
Anyone know of a tool that will work under X to accomplish this (our LTSP
clients run ICEwm if that matters).
Thanks in advance.

We are going to implement a similar solution. have the user boot the

some window manager(blackbox) and run rdesktop from the .bashrc file to

Hello all,
I would be very interested in any answers to this question as well, as I
have been trying to do this exact same thing. I know and understand that it
seems a bit odd to want to use LTS to boot to a Winblows Terminal Server,
but it saves CALS and we are interested in migrating our users
Okay here is my setup. I have a Win2k TS running to accept rdesktop clients.
I have a Suse8.0 linux box that is running ltsp.
I have a diskless client that gets the image just fine and will allow me
to run an x windows session.
I added the rdesktop command to the .bashrc file and when I log in

> How do you set KDM/XDM/GDM to run as a daemon for LTSP clients?
For gdm:
- Using gdmconfig, enable XDMCP and remove the auto-starting servers.
or
- Using a text editor, in gdm.conf, comment out any entry under '[servers]',
and under '[xdmcp]' set 'Enable=true'.
However, xdmcp is most likely al

I guess the mouse problem is because of the support for devfs on the
kernel i have forgotten.
I'm reading the ltsp_initrd files, now.

Alex,
You built your own kernel. It sounds like you didn't
include devfs support. Did you start with the .config
that I include in the ltsp_initrd_kit ?
And, what kind of mouse support didn't you have with
the stock LTSP kernel ?

Is this a RedHat version number? So are you saying that the machine works fine
standalone, but has problems as an LTSP client?

Hi all,
I want to implement a Linux terminal server at my school; we have about
150 Computers to run as clients. But most of the time only 50 Clients
would use the TS. Is there anyone here who has a suggestion what kind of
hardware I need?

We've added two lines for the 192.168.3.0 subnet, the lines are:
/opt/ltsp/i386 192.168.3.0/255.255.255.0(ro, no_root_squash)
var/opt/ltsp/swapfiles 192.168.3.0/255.255.255.0(rw, no_root_squash)

you added the host (ws002) to /etc/hosts? There should be an entry like
"192.168.0.2 ws002" in the file.
