which ltsp 3 or 4?
do you have same network cards on server and workstation?
I have tried ltsp 4 on suse and ltsp 3 and 4 on gentoo, but all these
with the same kernel (ltsp 3).
as far as permissions, on gentoo I even tried 777-ing whole va
lts.conf:

I don't know if this has been mentioned on this thread already, but have you
checked your DNS? NFS needs some sort of name resolution otherwise it will
hang, in my experience.

We converted your setting to Novell's DHCP config and it worked.

can't find it. There is no hosts.allow. There also are
not many subdirectories. Is all this correct or have I

I went into dhcp and lts and changed the address
to 192.168.0.254 thinking something would fail sooner.
No such luck, it runs fine and then still stops at

"golgi" is a HP PC with pentium 300 MHz, 128 MB RAM and cirrus graphic chip

Before adding a NFS swapfile we had serveral server crashes with StarOffice on
