Does fusermount have the correct permissions?
ostrich ~ # ls -l `which fusermount`
-rwsr-xr-x 1 root root 20556 Jan 26 13:52 /usr/bin/fusermount
If not:
chmod 4755 /usr/bin/fusermount

Yes, but they are hard masked. They cannot be merged unless you unmask
them in /usr/portage/profiles/packages.mask. Until it gets fixed that
is, and I have submitted a solution (I hope).

Hi All
Gentoo has hard masked LTSP and is (re)considering tagging it for
removal for the Portage tree because it is not currently maintained and
has a security issue (apparently). We are picking up maintainership of
this package.
First off, I need to verify whether there is infact an exploit

Hi All
Thusa (our company) will take over this ebuild under my direction. Please let us know where to get
onboard and what committments/updates are required to halt the removal
from the tree.
Donnie, please give me an idea of what your plans are for the
MueKow/Gentoo effort so we may assist.

This potential problem occurred to me when answering the last question about
specifying unique configuration options for specific terminals.
We have two LTSP implementations we look after. The old one has a dhcpd.conf
file with the hard-coded MAC addresses in the file for each host, with

As far as I know, this problem requires you to create a default case, and then
explicitly define exceptions in lts.conf.
For example if you have 30 workstations with 28 serial mice and two PS/2 mice,
then your lts.conf might look something like this:

We have two Linux-Mandrake 9.0 LTSP Servers, but the second, which we've just
configured is only able to mount the root filesystem on a terminal once, there
after it just sleeps.
The only difference between the servers is that the problem one uses PXELINUX
to boot (the stuff in pxestuff-

What about the cost of the booth?
I looked on the web site and it was basicly avoided.
I can't imagine "inexpensive" in NYC.
