If it is small enough, it might be nice to add the option to load it into ram. (I can't remember what that is.. maybe zram??) something like what puppy does. A 64bit system with EFI will (almost assuredly) come with enough ram to make using 64bit worthwhile (more than 4 Gig). Just a thought..

I haven't used the Ubuntu alternate, but when using Debian's mini installer (which is presumably similar), the main differences are: (as Ali said) the installer's interface (it is not memory hungry or pretty) no live CD version you can tweak some things that you wouldn't normally be able to tweak

Hi! The other option is to use the Ubuntu Mini ISO to install it... You can install fluxbox instead of Lubuntu, or you can install lubuntu-desktop and fluxbox, and configure fluxbox to use LXpanels, and PCManFM, etc.. I have a iBook that I installed a Debian Mini ISO on and run JWM/Rox quite well.
