I was there. 3 Bach suites and 1 Weiss (c minor with the famous
prelude/fugue fantasia stuck on at the beginning). Solid performance,
although I would have preferred less Bach and more Weiss (or other
composers who actually wrote for the instrument). Maybe it's just years
of familiarity, but it's h

There were other parts in that review that were generally offensive:
reducing the whole history of the Baroque lute to the few pieces "by"
Bach really stinks of the utmost ignorance of the true facts. My guess
is that the reviewer is a classical guitar player who thinks that Weiss
wrote Baroqu
Not necessarily a classical guitar player. There are many writers thinking the
complete music history before Beethoven Brahms and the likes concentrates in
the person Bach.
We do have a reviewer (playing a bit the piano) here who actually did much for
Mendelsohn but has no idea about pre-romanti
I know that nobody on this list would download music from
unauthorized sources, but I did notice that somebody just uploaded
mp3 files of Paul O'Dette's Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra
performance from this year's Boston festival (it wasn't me!!! I
swear!)
