Hello,
I have a 2009 iMac which I have upgraded from Leopard to Maverick as each
released became available.
I want to try using Email via the cloud and so went to System Preferences and
iCloud. I signed on using my Apple ID and saw that iCloud was enabled for
calendar and contacts and

Would have to agree with Sarah, Tempo perfect would be my app of choice as

Hi Martin,
I think you've run up against the accessibility issues in the Java Preferences
Utility, which is why you can't find options to clear your temporary files.
This issue was discussed on list last year in connection with updates a user
had to run to update Blackboard, and that
Hi ester, and others:
I contacted Apple about this and had a rather lengthy exchange with them. The
upshot was that Apple are passing the book to Oracle. They maintain, and with
a certain justification, that this isn’t their issue at all.
Hope this clarifies,
Dónal

Tempo Perfect is a great metronome app. The reason I suggested using
GigBabyFree! instead in an earlier reply is that I prefer to use rhythm or
music tracks for exercise sessions, and this app lets you either use a straight
metronome or play a backing rhythm track of your choice at the beat
Hello Folks,
I contacted the US office here in California regarding installing the Plustek
3600 on the Mac OS operating system. What I learned was that the model 3800
replaced the 3600 and that the 3600 wouldn't be supported any further than
10.7, which is a beta. The tech support individual
Hi Dónal,
That's a fair enough reply, but it doesn't get Martin out of his problems,
since Oracle's Java only runs for OS X 10.7.1 and above, I think. Of course,
even though Apple released a Java update for Snow Leopard just this Fall, you
could argue that Snow Leopard is an old operating
Hello Y'all,
I bought, just now, the Audiobooks HQ App. Thinking I could go get
something, I decided to try. I can't seem to connect anywhere. I'll get
catalog errors, connection errors on the notifications and so on. What here?
Has anybody tried this? I didn't see a placed where we have
Hello everyone
thanks to my support i managed to not only feel her iPad but also hear
it too. She has the newer iPad mini. I like the screen size, about 8
inches, and the sound quality is great.
So all I'm going to say if I ever get one is the iPad mini is the way to go.
Kind regards
Chris.
Hi Eileen,
Did this tech guy at the Plustek headquarters indicate that there are supposed
to be drivers for Mac and the 3800? That would be interesting. Last I looked,
there weren't any such on the Plustek website. I wish they would do
full-fledged drivers that would support third-party
I'm still trying to figure out what the attraction of the iPad is over an
iPhone. I mean I like toys too, but is there anything the iPad does that isn't
available on the iPhone that makes it worth buying?

I finally got the app to connect. I walked away for about an hour. Now, I
can pick up what I want. It is accessible, alright.
Take care,

Hi,
I have both an i phone and an i pad 2.
I love the portability of the i phone, obviously.
I mainly use the i pad at home or in places like Starbuck’s. for longer
sessions of reading and writing, it’s more comfortable for me, ergonomically.
I am totally blind, so screen size doesn’t mean
I use my iPad as there are situations where an iPhone is inpractical to
use with some Apps because of its small screen.
Mostly I use the iPad as an Internet radio or music player as the
speaker in my iPad III sounded damn good, I also prefer this device for
when I'm reading iBooks.

Hi all,
Just got a new iPad air. As it’s not a personal machine I’m not restoring from
an old backup.
Am I missing something, or have the options for syncing mail accounts
disappeared from iTunes? I can enter manually (not a huge deal) but if I can
avoid it I’d prefer not to.
Thanks for
I think manual is your only option, I'm afraid. I'm not sure why they
eliminated the options from iTunes, but they appear to have done so.

Hi all,
I also have the iPad 3 and the iPhone.
I use the iPad for music as I am deafblind and the larger speaker sounds so

I also use the iPad for reading and I am thinking of putting pages on it.
Does anyone know if the pages will work on the iPad and I can do documents

Hi All,
Thought you would be interested that a Pro version of the ABBYY FineReader OCR

Hi Phil,
Aside from the different layout that you get on the iPad with some apps, which
some folks like and others don't, there are advantages to having more than one
device. It's sort of depends on how much you use your phone every day. I know
that I could not do everything on my phone that I
That's great news, as a user of Abbey Fine Reader Express I had been wondering
about a Pro version for the Mac given that one is and has been available for
quite some time for the Windows Operating system.

Keep in mind that the cameras on the iPads and the iPods don't come close to
the resolution of the cameras on iPhones.
This means you will have trouble scanning for OCR and scanning barcodes.
My wife has an iPad, and it cannot read barcodes, but she has no problem
with her iPhone.

Glenn, the new iPad has the exact same processor as the newest iPhone. Same for
the new mini. So how can you say it's processor is any worse? Plus it gets
excellent battery life, better than the iPhone. Yes it is larger. But
especially for the mini, it's not that big a deal. If you use your

Not Phil but ok, I currently use my phone every day, therefore only
getting two to three days battery life at a push. With the pad and this
is just an example I could receive a notification on the phone but
actually deal with it on the pad, therefore saving battery life on the
phone.

Hello Esther,
I bought the upgrade last night for €65 rather than the €89.99 in the Appstore.
I just looked at the FineReader website on a whim, thinking there might be a
discount available.
I haven’t installed it yet but will give feedback when I do.
Cheers,
