Hello Listers,
If you have Itunes set to only sync selected albums, playlists, songs, etc.,
there is a mix of checked check boxes. Does anyone have a method for either
resetting them all to unchecked so you can choose new albums, for example, or
to find which ones are checked without having to b
Hi Gordon,
As John and others have suggested, you should check whether this behavior is
present only for your account, or for other logins. That will determined
whether it is a user account specific plist file that has been corrupted.
Other things you can try are checking whether this behavio
Hi eileens
The problem is software, not hardware. The space bar works
fine when used with a modifier key. It is a preference froblem
of some kind I believe.

Hi John
Yes, I'm sure it is a preference problem of some kind. I did
look under the shortcuts tab this morning but didn't spot
anything obvious. But I'll go and look again to see whether I
can set back to defaults. As you quite rightly suggest, that
would certainly be a good place to star
Thanks Josh. I will investigate this. Meanwhile, I don’t know if my other
question got lost in the
more lengthy message I sent. Does anyone know if it is possible to determine
the original location for a file in the trash?

Hi Gordon,
This is a simple solution, but maybe sometype of foreign partical has gotten
into the spacebar. What about using some compressed air to see if you can clean
it out before taking more drastic measures. There are times that my Mac Air
keyboard needs me to press a keystroke twice befor
sometimes keys get stuck. I don't know if this is your problem, but sometimes
the option or shift key acts like its being held down and the solution i have
found is to repeatedly press the key - like a flurry of rapid keystrokes hoping
to unstick the key. It works more times than not. I have not
Gordon,
I would go to system preferences keyboard then shortcut tab and set to defaults.
If the above doesn't work try to look for a .plist file to delete which might
also set to defaults. Which ior where that is have no clue.

Reinstalling the OS is a bit overkill in my opinion. I'd not go that route
just quite yet. Maybe as a last resort, but I'd like to see if the list, as
well as myself can help 'em get this solved some other way before going to
that extreme, should it be possible.

Gordon, Another thing to try that I didn't think of doing justa second ago
is, try creating another user on your system if you can get that far without
going insane! Then log out of your normal user and into the test user
account. then see if it continues. This'll let us know if it's system
What! the Heck? Bizarre!
Totally, bizarre! Have you tried another keyboard just to see if maybe you
got yourself a sticky spacebar? Yeah, I know, it's not likely, I agree, and
yeah, I'm sure knowing you, you probably already thought to try that, but
hey, it's a suggestion, none the less.
Gordon,
I hesitate to suggest anything as I tend to think you will probably have
investigated what follows.
Do you have an application or way of testing which applications are
running and if so, if you close anything you can, do you still have the
issue with the spacebar?
I was also wondering if
