I agree with the original poster. If you have ssh to a router per say. You have
to review the output to ensure you get everything. VO will miss things.
If you use screen /dev/ttyusb0 to connect to a router via a serial console. VO
chops off the first part of the line and also doesn’t read out

Hello Deedra,
I agree that voiceover skips chunks of text in order to keep up with the
cursor.. I don’t know how familiar you are with the mac terminal, so some of
my comments may come as old news.
When you start the terminal session, the first thing you need to do is interact
using VO shift

Do you know if there are important differences in between the Unix system
used on the Mac Terminal and what you know under Linux?
Yes. Some of the command line options are different, as OS X is based on BSD
UNIX. However
I have a compiled copy of lynx the text only web browser I use in terminal.
This particular version does not support https secure functions on the net.
Does anyone know of a compiled version that does have this and where to get
it?
Thanks,

You might want to set up Macports on your machine. From there you can
install any number of (about 13000) unix packages including lynx 2.8.7
which has dependencies on openssl so I assume it allows the use of https:

Linux does have Unix origins, and the Mac shell is Unix. It's also the Bash
shell, (Born Aag SHell). It's possible to do various kinds of scripting on it,
but I haven't investigated that yet.
