If I recall correctly, you must explicitly state that you want to convert
maps to GIFS during the MapExtreme setup. This is because the GIF format is
copyright protected and you are required to pay your dues. If you ommit this
the GIF format is not available.

As i know you have to increase your raster image resolution at leat 1 m
resoltion if u r using UTM, Lambert or other projection systems im sure u
dont have any problem with lan/lon system :)

I'm looking for a general map of Ireland for a class project. I really only
need counties and major cities. Does something like this come included with

In MapJ 1.0 only tiff seem to work. For us, in version 2.0 all rasters seems
to work but are unstable. For now, we don't use anymore MapJ for draw
rasters, we draw the raster in a bufferedimage and insert this raster layer
on the workspace in the rendering process of MapJ..
Any ideas about where to locate coverages of Peru? Lima Street
map?

anyone know of a utility that would track the lat/long for example of the
mouse location and put it in the bottom border of the map mapinfo or
something?
I find it difficult to locate a place when given a lat/long in decimal
format for example.

For those that don't know you can actually get the layout to contain a block
of text that is longer than you can manually enter in the text box. This is
achieved by editing the workspace file directly. I haven't sat down to
count but I think the test box lets you enter around
