I had a science teacher in high school that did just that. She didn't
even know she had damaged her eyes until the next day when she tried to
read something. Play is safe, don't do it at all. It is never safe to

Just a word of caution to the list
I recently purchased some Neato MD labels and so far, I think they're
wonderful. However, I find that since I store most of my MDs in Case Logic
folders, which will not hold the MD in its slip case, I either wind up making
a label for the case that I don't really need, or else just wasting
Yesterday i made TOC cloning with my new JE 730
I cloned a 80 mins long track from a 80 mins long disc onto a 74 mins disc.
Then i had to overwrite that track, cause when i delete that track on the
cloned disc, it would be reset to 74:59 mins.
So i overwrote that track, and recording stopped at

I have a Creative 8x CD-ROM which has terminals on the back for some sort of

should I get the 722? I liked the sound on the 701 and

Hmm,
well,
I'm having problems playing discs in an MDX-65 changer.
I have it connected to a RM-X69RF controller. Right now
its sitting on the workbench running from a 12VDC bench
supply. The audio output is connected to a powered speaker.
When it is running, the display indicates normal operation.

Why does it stall? a very scratched disc?
causes the computer to hang? try a better OS...I'd suggest
My CD Rom (Panasonic?) has 2 small pins on the back of the cct bd for
digital out.
I couldn't find a suitable plug so I soldered a length of coax cable
directly to them and terminated the other end with an RCA plug.
It plugs directly into the coaxial input on my JA3-ES and works great -

I've heard that it is not possible to title audio MDs from
a Windows PC, but you can from a Mac. Is this out dated
I rang Newcastle Richer Sounds today and they also said HiSpace

Hey, i bought a MDBUNDLE 5 that came with a JE-320 and a MZ-EP11. It was
kind of cheap, and I dont really need high quality stuff because I dont live
off of MDs. But I found the bundle to be nice.

To stop getting this list
Dear Everyone
I would so much like to get a portable MD Recorder but I live in South
Africa and to get one from here costs about $650. I also don't have the
money to buy one online. I was wondering though, if anyone would be kind
enough to maybe give me their old MD portable that's not in use?.

Word is out that there is a new MiniDisc site out called T-Station, which
you can check out at http://www.t-station.net/. Its a very nice looking site
with some good content.

Kinda reminds of the Microsoft Office 98's ability to self-diagnose and
self repair. Imagine a MS MD player where the "splash screen" starts, (and
probably in the results in test mode) it would flash:

Hi Dan,
Sorry to hear about your '702 problem. I haven't heard about this one
specifically, so I'm forwarding it to the MD mailing list in the hopes
that someone else might be able to help give you an answer.

Hi Ben,
Thanks for the note, sounds like MD is becoming more than just a
niche! I'm forwarding this to the MD mailing list.
