During the last few hot days here in RI, my horn has been beeping for
about 1/2 second when I hit the brake pedal- but intermittently. It is
strange. Anyone had this? Must be something to do with the alarm, I

Yes, try that. The lines are supposed to leak on one end (the IP)
when ON, and not when OFF (they are coupled together the
trip to Mena and borrow a few tools from Grandpa's house) and it leaks
a fairly steady drip out the oil sight tube on the side of the block.

recommended fix? Epoxy from the outside or inside? Any others??

Well, the compressor is around 50 years old, so it'll be hard to replace the
sight glass. Though, it might be a standard 1/2 NPTlooks about the right
size. I'll check that tomorrow.

yes, I saw that picture, if I can dig it up I will post it. But its
only logical the cummins would have bigger rods, the displacement is
spread out over 6 cylinders where the others its spread out over 8, so
they wouldnt have to be as heavy because you have more of them.

All the cummins I drove, even the duallies, ran the 3.73 gears. Its
posted right there on the sticker in the glove box. According to the
owners manual with my chebbie, I have 3.73 also. I think the difference
is in the tranny. The allison is 5 speed and whatever junk they put in
the dodge s

it allows vacuum thru the key to the shutoff. When you turn the key on,
you want the vacuum to bleed off so it releases the shutoff and you can
start the engine.

Yea, I should have known that. I did later find a window sticker saying it
was made in "somewhere" Ohio.
We knew about the "right side impact" that CarFax showed. It was a parking
lot ding and the owner had the whole door replaced.

for a couple of hours and cooled off (well, relative for here) the fan
came on when I turned the ignition switch. The engine temp was about
135 degrees F.
